To help you determine which is the best program and study option for you, the following guide may be helpful. MASTERMIND YOUR OWN CAREER ADDITIONAL STUDY OPTIONS Graduate diplomas Graduate diploma programs, which are based on master’s programs but require fewer units of study, are an excellent option for students who do not want to commit to a full master’s program, but who want to gain a solid grounding in their chosen field. After students have completed their graduate diploma to a satisfactory level, in most cases they can then progress to the relevant master’s course. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME? Depending on the course, a master’s degree usually takes between one and one-and-a -half years of full-time study; a graduate diploma takes one year; and a graduate certificate takes six months. WHEN ARE THE CLASSES HELD? To help you manage your professional, study and family commitments, classes are held primarily in the evenings (generally from 6 to 9pm). Blocks of classes are also held over weekends or on weekdays. As well, Summer and Winter School intensive courses add to the flexibility of the Business School’s teaching times. Graduate certificates For students who wish to undertake a short academic training course for career purposes, or who would like to experience further study options to ascertain whether a graduate diploma or master’s program would be suitable, graduate certificate programs are an ideal option. They are a great entry point for students who wish to consolidate their understanding of their chosen field. In most instances, on successful completion of the graduate certificate, students can choose to progress to the relevant graduate diploma or master’s course should they wish.
